Spencer Louis is indeed insane.
Spinning around and around in a circle, again and again, saying" Round and Around" the boy almost knocked himself flat on the floor. This little activity, although it happens often, took place today before nap time and I have to admit, and yes you'll have it right here....said flatness would have been appreciated. I jest. I think. He was just very......very....."two" today.Fits BIG fits over "Something to drink, something to drink, something to drink!" ( he had already consumed two rather large glasses of moo juice by the way) "I want the trains want the trains want the trains!!"..well etc. I will not make you share in my pain.
All is well at the Kautt-Smith household now, as far as I can tell...( again he is napping, rather soundly, I might add after so many emotional cries to his needs ( read as wants ) ) But there is the after nap beast to contend with. Oi vey.
At least they're cute right??

heh.

While all The other Babies Play.....

Spencer Louis Kautt-Smith dilgently cleans up the litter that often bespeckles our favorite park.
Granted I think that a large part of his fascination is just to be able to put something in the mysterious bin marked" trash", it does not stop me from being the proudest mama at the park. Today we could not go take the time to slide down the slide UNTIL we picked up the numerous water balloon tips that littered the "basket court". He was really very effecient about it, taking my lead to organize all the tips into one pile ( instead of running back to the trash can each time we found one) and then taking them back. He was quite sad when we accomplished our goal. I think I have mentioned before that he throws wood chips in as well, but today, people came up to him and handed him trash goods to dispose of, while he ran to the can, hands in the air and shouting "Gunna throw it awway!" I was so proud of him, others were proud of him, he's just well he's just awesome you know that.

let us bask in our pride.....

Ironically, today was a dreary Portland day, so no pool fun. But Spencer and I did go to the librbary, for about twenty minutes, in which we read three books, ran the length of the library twice, and finally got Mr. Kautt-Smith his own offical book card that I know will come into MUCH use for the years to come.
I think that he was just a bit overwhelmed by the whole idea that there is a whole building that houses so many BOOKS and that he has as much accsess to them as he does to his beloved, worn in books at home. They also have story time, which we will no doubt visit this summer. But after that 20 minutes, ( it took us 30 to get ready?) we walked home, in the rain. Although we could have called Daddy to pick us up, it was an act in defence for a tired, disspointed mama. He of course loved it. It wasn't raining much and actaully the fresh air did us good. Spencer is also an excellent walking partner, who will always hold my hand, and always pause to look both ways. So in end, the walk was enjoyed by all.
I often mention that Spencer is a bit of a chatter box, but when I try to remember the things he says when I actually sit down to write about him, I can never remember them. Well as it has been said several times today, I will take note of it.

At one time it was somewhat of a challenge to get Spencer out of his pj's and always I would have to explain: " We can't go outside with our pajammas on, it just wouldn't make any sence!" Well this is one of his favorite sayings now when getting dressed, be it in his pj's or in to his clothes for the day. He also uses the same reasoning about getting into the tub.
He starts to climb into the tub, fully clothed, and then looks at me very matter of factly and says.." You can't wear your pajammas in the bathtub, well..it just dosen't make any sence!" It's so funny to see him assert this logic to me as if he had stumbled upon an ancient wisdom and was now deciding to share it with his mama. His tone of voice is so prim, it's just great. I make sure to have the look of one who has finally seen the proverbial light when he shares his musings.

One day I will be able to get him to say something besides "NO." into the phone as that is how you can load sound onto these pitcular blogs. Maybe I can just hide it one bath time and hope something records, for it is priceless.

I will now bid you adieu

I see your picture, your name in lights above it, these is your big debut......it sure looks good on you! And when you smile for the camera.....you know they're gonna love it!!!!!!
Hello, hello.
Spencer is addicted to his new swimming pool!!

He loves " swwiiimmmiinnnn in dah ocean!" and of course, finds great amusement in sliding down the slide " strait into the wattterrr!". When inside he glances longlingly at said oasis, and should the sun peak out of it's clouds, it's immediately time for some aquatic fun. I am glad to see it, and his somewhat pale complexion ( ahem...he's white as a little Casper the ghost, we all know it....) a few days out in the sun have given his skin a little bit of a bronze tone.

We have also spent 85% of all days outside, mostly at the park, where the favorite activity has become "playing dingle dum". This game consists of walking along whatever strait line is available and calling out "dingle dum dingle dum!"He's working on that balance issue and is doing a fine job. I have NO idea where "dingle dum dingle dum" orginated. Go figure. It's nice to think that he created a little tune for himself though. He also loves to throw whatever pieces of trash away, and when there is no trash available, he attempts to rid the playground of woodchips. Well, he's certainly not a litterbug right? Yet he does love to play in the dirt, specifically the softball diamond on the eastern side of the park. He runs from first base to third base ( skipping second...) and back. Suffice it to say that he is pretty tired by the end of the day, and well sometimes that's a blessing. Ahem. He is growing SO fast, and loves to prounounce the fact, whether it be as he is eating ( Gonna make me grrooooowwwww!) or when he takes his vitamins, when after I prompt him with " These are going to make you healthy.."
he shouts gladly : "and STRONG!" He is such a wonderful little person, and so complex, when I do these posts I know everytime that I am not including all the things that make him such a beautiful being.
To quote Spencer ( when he sees tons of bubbles in the bathtub ) "Look at all these bubbles, it's ammmmaazing!" well of course without the bubbles part.

until we meet again,
mama
