Watching the Wild Boy Grow

Ahhh, Spencer's first real Christmas has come and gone.
He was quite enthralled with the season as a whole, every stop at the Fred Myer's spent looking at the trees, decorations, and sniffing large amounts of cinammon scented pine cones.(We ended up buying a bag...the boy LOVED them..) Spencer visited Santa twice, once at the firehouse muesum Santa wearing firefighter gear, and once at the mall. At the mall he was so distracted by the other children and many toys that he just kind of answered, yes, yes, yes to everything Santa asked him.
"Spencer have you been a good boy this year?"
"Yeah."
Spencer would you like maybe a soccer ball for Christmas?"
"Yeah."
Or maybe an old smelly sock filled with coffee grounds?"
"Yeah."
you get the picture.
still both photos are worthy of reprinting so look forward to those.

LAst night we left out cookies and milk out for Santa, and a carrot for Rudolf. This was Spencer's main concern this morning. The first thing he said when his over excited giggling parents went in to wake him up was "I wanna go check those cookies and the carrot!"
Upon reaching the well stocked living room Spencer bipassed his castle, stocking, etc. to stare at the half eaten plate of cookies.
"Wow" he said " Santa ate all those cookies and the carrot is gone."
His father and I finally alerted to what Santa had left in exchange for those cookies.
Suffice it to say he was elated, but still his oblivousness to is loot was funny and endearing.
That material objects don't matter didn't last long though, not when he saw the packages filled with endless knights, wizards, and dragons for his castle. Not to mention the three HUGE construction trucks chris ( Santa that is) brought him.

It was a fun day- I am tired- so more later all.
hope you had a great christmas too!
