Watching the Wild Boy Grow

a fairly up to date description of our favorite lil man

I know, I know it is five whole days after the actual event, but I must tell you I am just now starting to get our normal life back together!
Normal being realtive of course.
Well this day I speak of...Spencer's first Birthday of course!!
I can really hardly believe that only one year ago, I was still at the hospital, our little man about as a long as a football, face still a healthy ruby red, only able to cry to communicate.
Now he is ALL over the place, can say "bat" ( for bath ) eats everything and anything, is on the very verge of standing sans furniture, on the verge of walking....just growing growing GROWING.
I swear he has grown two inches in just the last two days!
His birthday by was super fun, Aunt Kelly and his new friend Maria visited, making everything twice as fun. I think he was a little overwhelmed, but in that wonderful, yes I do I do I do LOVE that SUGARY connfection called CAKE!
I will add more later as my computer is a still a bit temperomental, but just know that our guy is ONE! 12 months!!
356 days plus!
I love him so much sometimes that it hurts me, but it is a wonderful proud happy hurt.
you know, kind of liek when you try cake for the first time.

Just wanted to add a few little things since my last entery.
Spencer has become enthralled with pointing at all the wonderful things in his world. Sometimes, he can point on demand (i.e. "where's the ball spencer?") but right now it's mostly just pointing and throwing his arms out in a "Ta-Da" grandious manner that makes him ( and mommy and daddy ) happy.
We anxiuosly await next Thursday, when his aunt kelly arrives for the big 1.Frog face cupcakes, balloons, and an obligatory picture with the birthday hat on await us.I doubt that we can get more with the hat on as hats are not his thing persay,so I'm sure we'll all load up the cameras accordingly.I can't wait, this will also be his first encounter with the delights of cake, so I'm almost sure that an afternoon nap will be looked over.
Oh, yes and with the pointing came a nice nose pick last night dinner. It was so funny it was hard telling him no, I'm sure he thougt " Well you're laughing mommy so it MUST be okay!" but it was addressed that even though it's not wrong just not to do it in public...yes, as Seinfeild fans will appreciate, he must make it look like a scratch rather than a pick.
well that's about all for today, although I'm sure I left something out somehere, he's always doing something new, always learning.
I just wish I could see it though his eyes.
until later folks,
